Bloom Enter near The blossom foul scent pulls me in If, once, we over-wear the shroud Lost in the the dense forests in the clouds Elated and proud, We now find ourselves immersed in infusions bright and loud Elegant, striking red threaded leaves and lavish flavorful blooms. We calmly swallowed them. The coarse spurs tingle in my throat as the minutes pass, oh We fall from grace, all into fire My silent forte singing null, cold, my drowned mind overfull the vernal spell has overtaken us all what is this pittance? I resemble the talons of a herculean dragon. the shard, a knife at your neck. The vigor of dust, in disgust I am no foreigner here, I am of oblivion, in this, my cup, runs the brimming canal I am gone, this is but a dream

The Big Bad Out There

My skin is always trying to heal itself. And for the moment, I respect it (rather than, for instance, the way I rage against my need for love). My skin forms scabs, unsightly but they carry a righteous purpose of protecting a wound, a breach, from the big bad out there. Where they sit the light can’t get in, but neither can an enemy. If I don’t obsess, they simply fall away when they’re no longer needed, leaving behind a pale patch of fresh, foolish skin. Not the way a man is a fool, more the way the tarot reads a fool—open and innocent and curious. That’s where I know I can take fresh steps. My skin must not know my mind, as she has never waivered for a second in her will to survive, unlike my mind. Or maybe she knows my mind well, and is driven by this unflinching devotion to their partnership. To say “it’s ok, amygdala, I can carry us.”

This track is an update of 'Lil' Titus' from the most recent QM issue, continuing the idea of showing the evolution of a recorded song/composition.
I had one of my high school students from Oakland School for the Arts, Victor Kalin O'Connell, come record some drums on this round of the track (You'll hear them enter around the 1'25'' mark). I had heard him play this particular beat in class a few months ago and this piece immediately came to mind. My sincere thanks to him for allowing me to incorporate it into this track.
Also recorded on this track:
- Akai MPC 1000
- A decent, god fearing vibraphone
- Roland Gaia SH-01
- Fender Rhodes
- Yamaha DX-7 (all hail)
